Kaidan likes to cuddle. He will seek you out across the vast expanse of bed no matter how far you travel and you will be spooned.

The spoonening.

IT’S ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL YOU REALIZE THE RELATIONSHIP OF TWO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS OWNS YOUR SOUL AND YOU CAN’T GET YOUR LIFE BACK AND NOTHING MATTERS ANYMORE

That’s the thing with John and Kaidan - they know what’s needed, what the other needs.

When words are needed and when they’re not, when their actions speak louder than any of their words could. A touch, a reassuring hand, a kiss - all silent but they say volumes.

The war hasn’t been and isn’t going to be easy, but you’re not alone.
I’m here, I love you and you’re not alone and you never will be.

HOW TO HUG COMMANDER SHEPARD
Sometimes, when he’s shaky after a mission, thinking he did the wrong thing by doing the right one, and his hands are still cramping in the shape of a missed shot, and his scars stand out on his face like it’s the face that’s visiting, the scars that are constant, and his eyes are lost in place and time, and space opens up to swallow them.
When a clap on the shoulder would be protocol, but arms around his shoulders are the sanity check he’s needing.
When he makes a pretty bad joke.
When he makes a pretty good one.
When he’s tired—and he’s always tired. (And you’re starting to think it’s any old excuse you keep chasing.)
When his knees buckle under grief or his body doubles under raw, tired, cosmic laughter.
Or it’s the end of a long day.
Or the beginning of a new one.
When you drank the last cup of coffee and he stumbles after the empty pot, and while another one brews, time needs a quiet, mercy killing.
When you haven’t seen enough of each other the past twenty-four hours.
When you’ve seen just enough to know how bad another hug’s needed.
When it’s all about you, whether you’ll see him again, whether you remembered what it’s like not to see him. For long months that swell into years, time blurring, vision fading, meeting only in dreams that leave you wanting when you’re finally awake again.
When you’ve got a headache.
When he’s got one.
When you’re saying goodbye, which is all you ever do.
When you’re saying hello, which still happens now and then.
Look at him, remember, try to forget, love, try not to mourn, and don’t let him know every hug could be the last, but hold him, hold him, hold him like you mean it.

Someone to live for…maybe love.”

because shepard and kaidan totally swap hoodies whenever they’re apart for extended periods of time ;w;

Shepard inspected the neatly folded blue pile sitting on the edge of his bed in his cabin; it was Kaidan’s spectre hoodie and on top sat a small slip of paper. He reached out and picked it up, bringing up the paper closer to his face, he could make out Kaidan’s clean handwriting, ‘since I’ll be gone for a longer period than usual, I thought you might like this to keep you company, Kaidan

He let out a small chuckle, apparently he and Kaidan had had the same idea - Shepard packing away his N7 hoodie in Kaidan’s bag before he left a few hours earlier.

Carefully, he unfolded and pulled the hoodie on and stood there for a few moments in the middle of his cabin, drawing the material closer in to himself, burying his nose deep into the soft lining and drawing in slow breaths, drawing in Kaidan.

“I miss you.” He whispered quietly into the fabric.

As he gathered himself, pulling up the zipper and making his way towards the elevator, Shepard could almost hear Kaidan’s ‘I miss you too’ and he smiled.

hedlunds:

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite a new thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which I will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh...And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill
of under me you quite so new
